Visiting a new place and finding the right places to go in such short time is always tricky. You often end up in the same pub, drinking the same stuff and before you know it the week is over and you have missed out on exploring the town. So I thought I would share with you some of the places we visited and really enjoyed in Les Deux Alpes for Après-Ski, Evening Drinks and if you fancy a boogie- Clubs.

So here is my list on where to go for drinks in Les Deux Alpes:

Two Spritz drinks in Les Deux Alpes Umbrella bar for après-ski

Après-Ski

  • PANO BAR

This place is fab, you just have to follow the music to find it. You don’t have to ski to get there as it is situated by the mid-station of the Jandri Express cable car. The food looks incredible and they have a DJ which starts at 3pm. The atmosphere is fab, some dancing on the tables and some good tunes- however, do be prepared for the pricey beer. A pint of Leffe was €9.50

  • UMBRELLA BAR

Once you’ve finished on the mountain this is the place where the party goes on. This bar is situated at the bottom of the Jandri Express in Les Deux Aples and they have a live DJ from 5-7pm every evening. Keep an eye out for a crazy guy making anything you like out of balloons too!

  • DIABLE DU COEUR

You’ll find this at the top of the Diable chairlift, 2400m. We enjoyed a few beers in the outside heated bar and DJ. A lovely place to stop for a chilled atmosphere and mountain drink. However, don’t forget you still have a long slope down to get home so don’t go having too much to drink 😉

  • SALOON BAR

This is the old Smokey Joes. We actually never made it in here but heard good things. It’s located at the bottom of the Jandri in the centre of town, next to a ski shop and down some stairs. They have food and their own beer. A more chilled vibe if Umbrella bar isn’t your thing.

Evening Drinks

  • THE SPOT

A fab place for a chilled evening out, they have live music every Tuesday and Wednesday from 10pm-2am. The band offered more of a live karaoke which was fab, so if you fancy a sing along and enjoy some live music it’s the place to go. Drinks weren’t too expensive and it was full of British folks.

  • MOTOWN CAFE’

This felt more like a locals cafe’ where we enjoyed a hot chocolate on a snowy day, but super funky vibe with loads of vintage stuff on walls, mountain feel and friendly staff! If you want to venture out a little and enjoy some more local feeling then I would definitely suggest a stop here for a coffee or beer.

  • THE POLAR BEAR PUB

Hard to miss really, it feels like the most popular bar in town! Cosy atmosphere, live music every Thursday, log fire and very central: perfect for a pit stop on the way home after a long day skiing/snowboarding.

  • CHAMOIS LODGE

This place is actually a hotel which looks incredible too, if you are looking for somewhere to stat! This has warm, honey-coloured timbers, sink into sofas and even outside fires to keep you warm for a lovely outdoor drink. Feels a little more sophisticated inside but we really enjoyed keeping warm by the fire outside. We met a couple that were staying at the hotel and they told us the food was fantastic.

  • LA RHUMERIE

A pirate themed bar and over 60 flavours of rum to choose from, and of course soft drinks if you don’t do alcohol. I loved the feel of this place and very friendly staff. It was frequented by a lot of French people, which was nice and gave more of a local vibe to the place. Plus, the interiors are super cool!

  • WINDSOR PUB

Really nicely decorated bar with friendly staff, fairly priced and we were even given some snacks to nibble on. A lovely pub, central to Les Deux Alpes. However it’s fairly small so can get very busy!

  • SLIDE PLANET

This bar is partially a ski hire place and half bar. They also have outside seating with lovely propane fires to keep you warm. I could have stayed here all evening with a beer, a really relaxed environment. This is not far from the lifts and just by the central bus stop so handy if you’re staying a little further away.

  • SECRET BAR

Another popular bar in town, so not so Secret! We enjoyed a few evening drinks here, it has a cosy vibe to it and food looks delicious ( I believe it’s run by Italians). We watched the first Six Nations game Wales vs France here and atmosphere was great! A win for Wales too!

CLUBBING

  • JUKEBOXX

House music, techno and home to various DJ’s it was good for a boogie. They definitely love their smoke machine, only stayed for one drink and moved on to Cafe’ Brazilian where I personally preferred the music and atmosphere. Worth a trip on your night out though!

  • CAFE’ BRASILIEN

A centrally located club with good tunes and a dangerous pole on the dance floor. Enjoyed it here and great for a boogie, however it wasn’t the cleanest and smelt quite bad.

  • SMITHY’S TAVERN

We went here for a drink on one evening at about 11pm and it was really quiet, so I can’t really say much about it. I think it’s a popular late night with free entry though so they say it’s a good last stop before you hit the Avalanche club next door.

  • AVALANCHE CLUB

Our hotel was just around the corner from it. We visited it as seemed the obvious place to be! Though the music wasn’t exactly my cup of team, it felt really small and stuffy though we might have missed the upstairs to it. One night we entered for free at 11pm but when trying on another night at about 2am we were asked to pay.

Hope you have a brilliant time here, enjoy your stay, the snow and of course the Apres-ski!

Let me know if you visit any of the above, would love to hear from you!

xx
